Promenade littéraire: Sorel-Tracy, une ville à raconter
As part of its educational activities, the Biophare collaborated with the City of SorelTracy to create Promenade littéraire: Sorel-Tracy, une ville à raconter, a literary walk through the city of Sorel-Tracy. This initiative is aimed at everyone, from passionate readers to lovers of riverside walks.
Sorel-Tracy is known as a hub of the metalworking industry, but its literary heritage is often forgotten. The city is mainly associated with the work of Germaine Guèvremont, author of the famous novel, “The Outlander.” But many other writers, including Anne Hébert and Réjean Ducharme, were inspired by the habits and customs of the city’s inhabitants, past and present, and set their stories against the backdrop of this city and its region.
Promenade littéraire: Sorel-Tracy, une ville à raconter will help you discover or rediscover the city through the work of several authors who were born or lived here. As you make your way through the 16 stops on the tour (approximately 2.5 km on foot), our two guides will tell you about these authors and their connections to the city.
Promenade littéraire: Sorel-Tracy, une ville à raconter is available by reservation from June to September.
