ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP: DES TRÉSORS À PRÉSERVER
In this activity, we’ll explore the rich diversity of plant and animal life found in the wetland habitats of the Lake Saint-Pierre biosphere reserve. The lobby of the Biophare provides a wealth of information about this exceptional environment and serves as a gateway for our permanent exhibition, L’observatoire du lac Saint-Pierre, which will be presented as part of the activity.
OPTION 1 – WORKSHOP ONLY
Outline of activity:
- Guided tour of our exhibition, L’observatoire du lac Saint-Pierre
- Presentation and group quiz game
- Acrylic painting workshop
All levels of artistic ability welcome.
Objectives:
- Recognize the value of our natural environment
- Communicate to future generations the role each of us plays in protecting the environment
- Discover or rediscover a love for painting/drawing
- Use artwork to express an understanding and impressions of the topic presented

Persons age 55 and up, retirees, residents of retirement homes and residential care centres.

- 9:45-10:00 a.m. (15 minutes): Arrival of participants. Reception, word of welcome, presentation of facilitator/guides.
- 10:00-10:45 a.m. (45 minutes): Guided tour of the L’observatoire du lac Saint-Pierre exhibition. Participants visit the exhibition and get inspired for the artwork they will create later during the painting workshop. Questions are welcome!
- 10:45-10:55 a.m. (10 minutes): Break
- 10:55-11:30 a.m. (35 minutes): Game of questions/quiz. The participants are put to the test on knowledge acquired.
- 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (60 minutes): Acrylic painting workshop. Participants use acrylic paints to create an artwork, which they will take home at the end of the activity.
